U.S. House passes bankruptcy foreclosure modification bill

About an hour and a half ago, the U.S. House of Representatives finally passed the long-promised bill to allow Federal bankruptcy judges to modify mortgages on homes.

On February 13, Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo and Citigroup all proclaimed a “moratorium” on foreclosures against owner-occupied homes for a few weeks to give the President a chance to announce and implement his foreclosure program.
