Cimperman’s early money
If early money is like yeast, who helped Joe Cimperman get his dough to start rising?
Councilman Cimperman announced his candidacy for Dennis Kucinich’s seat on December 3. In the next two weeks (through December 16), fifteen contributors wrote checks for more than a thousand dollars to Joe Cimperman for Congress. Click to see the list:
These contributions totalled $39,200. None of the listed addresses are in the Tenth Congressional District.
During the same two weeks, another twenty people and one corporate PAC kicked in contributions of $1,000 or less, totalling $16,760. Four of these smaller kickoff contributions came from addresses in the Tenth District.
(Since Kucinich didn’t officially announce until January, there’s no comparable kickoff period in his last-quarter 2007 reports just filed with the FEC. His Congressional contribution report shows two personal donations in December totalling $750 — one from Parma Heights and one from Shaker Heights — plus $2,800 from his Presidential campaign committee.)

It seems like you’re suggesting something, Bill, so what is it you’re suggesting? That District Ten money represents something different?

Well, since Joe himself doesn’t live in the district and never has, it’s an interesting question where the impetus and support for his campaign are coming from, isn’t it? Interesting to me, anyway (as someone who has lived and voted here for 27 years).

As a resident of the 11th district I’d like to say that whereas most people are represented by only one member of Congress, it would be nice to have two congresspeople looking out for our interests.
