On February 13, Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo and Citigroup all proclaimed a “moratorium” on foreclosures against owner-occupied homes for a few weeks to give the President a chance to announce and implement his foreclosure program.
Last week (February 23 to 27) 262 new civil foreclosure cases were filed in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court.
- 36 were filed by Bank of America and its subsidiaries, Countrywide and Lasalle.
- 25 were filed by Wells Fargo and its subsidiary Wachovia.
- 26 were filed by Citigroup subsidiaries.
- 12 were filed by JP Morgan Chase or Chase Home Finance.
